You and I-Ingrid Michaelson Cover w/ Thuyvy Bui (Youtube.com/MylilAng3l)

Hurray, we finally were able to meet up and finish recording this video. It’s sort of a tradition for us haha, I visit once a year and we record a video together. This year Thuyvy suggested that we sang the song, “You and I” by Ingrid Michaelson. I really liked that song and agreed, I knew the song before but…for some reason every song I listen to in my iPod I never know the entire song haha. We have been trying to find a day to meet up together and sing a song, however due to circumstances, we weren’t able to. Finally the beach hangout was a the perfect day!
We were originally going to record this with two ukuleles and a tambourine for the end and go crazy, but I like our ‘winging’ style. You work with what you have and what you are given with at the moment. It took a couple of tries but we finally finished the video, hurray! As we were singing though a Mexican family came near us and watched us so we were a bit uncomfortable haha, but all good!
PS. After re-watching the video I kept mixing up her voice with my voice LOL. Since we both were harmonizing I was thinking to myself which voice was for which person LOL…anyways, hope you enjoyed and thanks for listening!

After hosting beach events for the past three years with my middle school friends, it’s quite funny how this year I wanted to stay away from hosting another one. The first year I hosted a bonfire about 18+ people attended, the second year half that. I admit, I got nervous this year, but mostly because as the years went on I noticed that the people in the first picture weren’t attending to hang out for me, they attended just to attend. I’d create events and the numbers decreased, and it made me rethink the people I associated myself with.
So this year I seriously made up my mind not to stress over events and inviting people and feeling like a girl that comes once a year to make an event for people with nothing to do. I was tired of always going out of my way for people. And the longer I stayed in California, the people that cared for me, surfaced. Instead of stressing myself and finding a ride to people, they found rides to me. Instead of stressing over making plans to meet up, they’d plan to meet up with me.
I was really worried with this whole beach thing today, honestly. I figured no one would show up. And it’s crazy how wrong a person can be, maybe I’m just overly dramatic haha, but the people that did attend—are the nicest people on the planet. Instead of sleeping in -__- these people came to hang out with me.
Anyways, it was fun! The beach was alright, we actually winged everything haha. We all ate a million tacos at Beach Front throughout the day, and got in the water for a bit. After the beach though, man, staying over at Thuyvy’s house was so fun ^____^b OH, her house is beautiful by the way! Anyways, we all could not stop laughing hysterically there. We were playing Apples to Apples like psychos—dude, everything about that game was hilarious. Afterwards we watched a bit of the Olympics and called it a day. I wish my words could give this day justice, but it honestly was such a great day. Maybe because it was something a bit more meaningful to me. I don’t know, they probably thought it was a boring day LOLOL, but to me…for once I felt like I was around good company : )
